And yet this pure and clear light which enlightens every one is itself invisible. To make out this, it is necessary that you conceive them existing unconceived or unthought of, which is a manifest repugnancy. First, in true or absolute motion all parts which preserve the same position with respect of the whole, partake of the motions of the whole. But do not the most plausible of them depend on the supposition that a body is denominated the same, with regard not to the form or that which is perceived by sense, but the material substance, which remains the same under several forms?
